3/6/2023 0 Comments Scribus ghostscript missing![]() In some Scribus install documentation, I saw this sentence, “When you select the “Extra Fonts” Option in the installer, this will install two sets of high-quality, freely distributable fonts.” I don't recall an “Extra Fonts” option while installing. Is there some universal way to expand my font library to include these missing fonts? My experience is that Times New Roman is not a good substitution and I declined this suggestion. Scribus suggested a Times New Roman font substitution to allow the file to open. ![]() An error message was produced that said there are 2 missing fonts. However, if you still want to produce a Linearised PDF using Ghostscript, then you will have to pass the PDF file through Ghostscript, writing to the pdfwrite device, and specifying -dFastWebView. If you get that warning then you need to add the font, otherwise you don't. $ sudo apt upade & sudo apt install -y scribus // Ubuntu, Linux Mint & Debian If they are not then you should get a warning from Ghostscript that a font can't be found and a substitute is being used. ![]()
